Lewis Hamilton has won over Kim Kardashian’s children in the most old-fashioned way possible: with a puppy. The Lewis Hamilton Kim Kardashian puppy, a golden retriever named Halo, was revealed by the Formula 1 driver at a press panel ahead of the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, on 25 October.
“My girlfriend’s kids, I love spending time with them,” Hamilton, 41, said at the panel, according to People. “She’s got four, so I’m getting to play with these kids. I got them a dog this year, so little Halo is a new member of that family.”
The Gift That Won Her Over
According to a source close to Kardashian who spoke to People in a report published on 28 October, the puppy was just one example of the thoughtfulness that made her fall for Hamilton. “Gifting Kim’s kids a dog is just one of the thoughtful things Lewis has done for them,” the source said. “A big reason Kim fell in love with him was because of how caring and considerate he was with her kids right from the start. He’s always gone above and beyond for them.”
Kardashian, 46, shares four children with her ex-husband Kanye West, 49: North, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7. Days after Hamilton’s reveal, Kardashian shared a photograph on Instagram of Chicago cuddling the puppy, in a carousel captioned “a little bit of life”.
A Puppy With a Backstory
The puppy was flown in from Goldiva Goldens, a breeder in Maine, according to reports, with Hamilton’s dog trainer of 14 years, Kirstin McMillian, sent to collect Halo. The gift also carries a personal weight for Hamilton: his beloved bulldog Roscoe, a familiar face in the Formula 1 paddock, died in September 2025 after a battle with pneumonia. He was 12.
Hamilton and Kardashian have known each other for more than a decade, but their names were only linked romantically in February 2026, after TMZ obtained video of the pair stepping out of the same vehicle at a hotel in Paris on 2 February. A source later confirmed to People that it was a romantic meetup, and they made the relationship official on Instagram in April.
Serious — but Private
The relationship is reported to be growing more serious. According to a report by Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack, carried by Reality Tea on 2 November, Kardashian has told her mother Kris Jenner that she does not want cameras covering any future wedding — a striking demand from a star whose three previous weddings were all televised. Neither Kardashian nor Hamilton has announced an engagement, and the report rests on a single unnamed source, so it should be treated as reported rather than confirmed.
For now, the clearest public evidence of where the relationship stands is a golden retriever called Halo — and four children who, by every account, adore both the dog and the man who gave it to them.
