18-Year-Old Nathan Thomas Becomes World’s Youngest Male Professor, Breaks 306-Year-Old Record
Nathan Thomas has made history by becoming the world’s youngest male professor at the age of 18 years and 346 days, earning a Guinness World Record and ending a milestone that had stood for more than three centuries.
The Florida-born academic achieved the remarkable feat after joining Miami Dade College as an engineering instructor, where he now teaches students, many of whom are close to his own age.
According to CBS Miami, Guinness World Records confirmed that Thomas surpassed the previous record set by Scottish mathematician Colin Maclaurin, who became a professor at the age of 19 in 1717.
Thomas’s achievement brings an end to a 306-year-old record and reflects an extraordinary academic journey that began when he enrolled in college at just 10 years old.
