Stephen Curry scored 41 points as the Golden State Warriors beat the Orlando Magic 126-119 in overtime at the Chase Center on Saturday night, extending their winning streak to seven games.
Curry, who also had six rebounds and six assists, scored the go-ahead three-point play with 1:38 left in overtime to seal the win, according to Field Level Media and the NBA’s YouTube recap. Yaxel Lendeborg added 23 points, eight rebounds and three blocks, while Brandin Podziemski scored 15.
Orlando, who fall to 2-7, were led by Franz Wagner’s 30 points and 11 assists, with Wendell Carter Jr. adding 19 points and 11 rebounds. The Warriors improve to 7-3.
Curry delivers again
Curry’s 41-point night was a reminder of why he remains one of the most dangerous players in the league. When the game was on the line in overtime, the ball found its way to him — and he delivered, with a three-point play that put Golden State ahead for good.
It was the kind of performance that defines a winning streak. The Warriors have now won seven in a row, and Curry has been at the heart of it, scoring at will and making the plays that matter in the biggest moments.
Lendeborg’s 23 points were a valuable contribution, and the Warriors’ depth was the difference against a Magic side who refused to go away. Podziemski’s 15 points gave Golden State a third scorer in double figures, and the Warriors’ bench contributed valuable minutes in a game that went the distance.
Magic’s fightback falls short
Orlando will take encouragement from their performance. Wagner’s 30 points and 11 assists led a balanced attack, and the Magic pushed the Warriors all the way to overtime on the road.
But they could not contain Curry when it mattered most, and the defeat leaves them at 2-7. The Magic have talent, but they need to learn how to win games like this one — tight, on the road, against a team in form.
What comes next
Golden State’s seven-game winning streak has them firmly in the early-season mix in the Western Conference, and Curry’s form suggests it could go further. Orlando, meanwhile, must find a way to turn competitive performances into wins.
