Calgary Police Refocus Search Efforts for Missing 11-Year-Old Parker as Investigation Continues

Calgary police say they are refocusing their efforts in the search for 11-year-old Parker, a vulnerable child who has been missing since July 16, after completing extensive physical searches across key areas of the city.

Police Chief Katie McLellan announced Monday that while large-scale ground search operations are being scaled back, the investigation remains active and authorities are continuing to pursue every credible lead.

Physical Searches Completed

According to Calgary police, officers have completed extensive searches in Parker’s last known locations, including Nose Hill Park and nearby waterways. Hundreds of police officers, firefighters, search-and-rescue personnel, Alberta Sheriffs, and community volunteers participated in the search effort over the past several days.

Chief McLellan emphasized that ending the large-scale physical search does not mean the investigation has stopped.

“We are not giving up,” McLellan said, adding that investigators will continue reviewing new information as it becomes available.

With major search areas now covered, investigators are focusing on:

Officials also reminded the public not to conduct independent investigations or trespass on private property, warning that such actions could interfere with the ongoing investigation and create unnecessary safety risks.

Although the physical ground search has been reduced, police stress that the investigation remains ongoing.
