The Dallas Mavericks beat the Indiana Pacers 121-105 on Friday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, according to game records, but the win was overshadowed by an injury to rookie Cooper Flagg. Flagg exited with an apparent left-shoulder injury after a hard foul and did not return, according to NBA reports.

Flagg had 14 points, five rebounds and six assists in 17 minutes before leaving. The Mavericks will evaluate his status before upcoming games, and Dallas fans will wait anxiously for an update on the young star who has already become central to the team’s plans.

On the court, Dallas controlled the game. The Mavericks led for long stretches, moved the ball well and kept Indiana at arm’s length. A 16-point road win is a strong result, even if the injury news tempered the celebrations.

Injury Casts Shadow Over Road Win

Flagg’s exit changed the mood of the night. Teammates rallied to close out the win, but the focus quickly shifted to the rookie’s shoulder. Hard fouls are part of the game, yet any injury to a franchise cornerstone brings concern, especially this early in the season.

Dallas medical staff will assess Flagg in the coming days. Until then, the Mavericks must prepare as if they could be without him, even while hoping the injury proves minor and the absence is short.

Pacers Left To Regroup At Home

Indiana fell to 0-2 in the early standings after the home defeat. The Pacers struggled to contain Dallas, and the 121 points conceded will worry their coaching staff. Home losses by double digits are never easy to accept.

For Dallas, the priority is now Flagg’s health, followed by building on a convincing road win. If the rookie returns quickly, Friday night will be remembered as a statement victory. If not, the Mavericks must show they can win without him.
