Prime Video has renewed Neagley for a second season, announcing the renewal on October 1, 2026, according to Just Jared’s Prime Video renewals round-up. The Reacher spin-off, starring Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, will return after its first season established the character as a lead in her own right.
The Neagley season 2 renewal is part of a strong October for Prime Video, which also renewed Carrie for a second season. For the streamer, Neagley represents a successful expansion of the Reacher universe beyond its central character.
Neagley Steps Out Of Reacher’s Shadow
Frances Neagley is a private investigator in Chicago and a former military protégé of Jack Reacher in the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit. When a beloved friend from her past is killed in a suspicious accident, Neagley becomes hell-bent on justice, using everything she learned from Reacher and her time in the 110th to uncover a menacing evil.
That premise gives Neagley a distinct identity from Reacher. Where Reacher is a drifter who arrives in a town and leaves, Neagley is rooted in Chicago, with a past, a profession and a network of contacts. That rootedness allows for longer, more personal story arcs.
Sten, who played Neagley in Reacher, carries the spin-off with a performance that balances toughness and vulnerability. Alan Ritchson, who plays Reacher, has appeared in support, but the show is firmly Neagley’s.
What Season 2 Could Build
No premiere date for season 2 has been announced, and Prime Video has not detailed the new season’s central case. What the renewal does confirm is that the streamer sees Neagley as a durable franchise, not a one-off experiment.
Spin-offs often struggle to escape their parent show’s shadow. Neagley’s renewal suggests it has done so, finding an audience that follows the character, not just the brand.
For Prime Video, a second season of Neagley strengthens its crime slate and gives Reacher fans another reason to stay subscribed between seasons of the flagship show.
