Reacher has been renewed for seasons 5 and 6 at Prime Video, the streamer announced on September 28, 2026, according to Just Jared’s Prime Video renewals round-up. The early double renewal is one of the most confident moves of the year for a streaming drama, securing Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher for at least two more seasons.
The Reacher seasons 5 and 6 renewal arrived while season 5 was already filming, according to the same report. That overlap — renewing for season 6 before season 5 has aired — shows how much Prime Video values the series as a flagship title.
Why Prime Video Bet Big
Reacher, based on Lee Child’s novels, follows Jack Reacher, a former military policeman who drifts from town to town, solving crimes and confronting corruption. Its formula — a new town, a new mystery, a towering hero — has proved remarkably durable, translating well from page to screen.
Ritchson’s physical presence and dry humour have made the role his own, and the series has become one of Prime Video’s most-watched originals. A double renewal protects that asset, ensuring the show can plan long-term story arcs and retain its cast and crew.
The renewal also complements Neagley’s season 2 renewal on October 1, giving Prime Video a growing Reacher universe: a flagship show and a spin-off, both renewed, both expanding the same world.
What Two More Seasons Mean
For fans, the double renewal removes uncertainty. Reacher will not be cancelled on a cliffhanger, and the show can adapt more of Child’s novels without rushing.
For Prime Video, it is a statement of intent: in a market where even successful shows face cancellation, Reacher is a long-term investment.
Season 5, currently filming, will be the next test of that faith. If it delivers, seasons 5 and 6 will cement Reacher as one of streaming’s most durable action franchises.
