The US Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a batch of children’s product recalls on November 4 and 5, covering magnetic building toys, baby bottle sterilisers, child carriers and youth ATVs.

Parents should check model names and numbers against the recall lists before using any of the products below. (Note: the Once Upon a Farm toddler snack bars recall was covered in yesterday’s LIFESTYLE batch and is not repeated here.)

Magnetic cubes pose an ingestion hazard

Magnetopia magnetic building cubes and blocks were recalled on November 5 because the magnets can become loose if the cubes break or open, posing a magnet ingestion hazard to children. Swallowed magnets can attract inside the body and cause serious internal injury. The CPSC advises parents to stop using the affected cubes and check the recall notice for the remedy.

Sterilisers that overheat

Baby Brezza Enterprises recalled its SuperFast Sterilizer Dryers on November 5. The countertop appliances, which sterilise and dry baby bottles, breast pump parts and accessories in ten minutes, can overheat when plugged in and operating, posing a burn hazard if the surface is handled. The recalled units have model numbers BRZ0083, BRZ0154 and BRZ0156, printed on the product label on the bottom of the unit. CPSC recall number 27072.

Carriers and youth ATVs

L.L.Bean recalled backpack child carriers, model number AC25, on November 4, because small children can become entangled in the carrier’s harness, posing a strangulation risk. The forest green carriers have grey harnesses, with the model number on a tag in the upper left side of the rear. Other L.L.Bean child carrier models are not part of the recall.

U.S. Titan recalled X-Pro youth all-terrain vehicles on November 5 because the speed-adjusting module allows the ATV’s speed to be adjusted above the mandatory safety standard, posing a risk of serious injury or death. Vanderhall North America also recalled all model year 2024 to 2026 Brawley electric recreational off-road vehicles on November 5.

Parents with any of these products should stop using them and contact the manufacturer for a free repair, replacement or refund as directed in each CPSC notice.
