Actress Kim Ga Eun has announced that she is expecting a baby, a year after marrying her husband, actor Yoon Sun Woo. The King the Land actress shared the happy news on 24 October in a video on her YouTube channel, moving from footage of her wedding to the moment she learned she was pregnant.
The video ended with an ultrasound image alongside the words “One year later,” before Kim Ga Eun revealed the news in a caption that read, “A baby angel has come to us.” It was a gentle, personal announcement, shared on her own channel rather than through a formal statement, and fans responded with an outpouring of congratulations.
Kim Ga Eun and Yoon Sun Woo married a year ago after a decade-long relationship. The pair first met as co-stars on the 2014 drama Abiding Love Dandelion, where they played supporting roles, and their friendship gradually blossomed into romance over the years that followed.
A surprise for her husband
The video also revealed the surprise Kim Ga Eun prepared for her husband. Sharing the news with the message “Congratulations on becoming a dad,” she gave Yoon Sun Woo a special moment of his own, capturing his reaction as part of the announcement.
In the video, Kim Ga Eun spoke about the months ahead with warmth and honesty. “Everything still feels new, but I’ll do my best to capture our happy everyday life with our precious baby who has come to us and our family of six. Thank you,” she said, a reference to the wider family circle celebrating the news with the couple.
She also explained why she had waited to share the announcement. “A baby angel has come to us. I wanted to tell you right away, but it took a little longer because I waited until I reached a more stable stage,” she wrote in the video description, adding an apology for her quieter spell on YouTube. “It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I’m sorry I suddenly wasn’t able to upload videos without saying anything.”
A decade in the making
For fans who have followed the couple, the pregnancy news completes a love story more than a decade in the making. Kim Ga Eun and Yoon Sun Woo kept their relationship largely private for years, confirming their marriage plans only in 2025, when their agencies announced that the long-term couple would wed in a private ceremony attended by family and close friends.
Their wedding last year was deliberately low-key, and the pregnancy announcement has followed the same pattern: personal, unhurried and shared directly with fans.
“It’s already been a year since we got married. I got married, started YouTube, got to meet our precious baby angel, and now I can share the news too. These days, I feel so happy and grateful,” Kim Ga Eun said.
