At Cobb County Animal Services in Georgia, there is a list nobody wants to be on: the urgent list. It is where dogs go when time is running short and hope is running shorter. Dune, a tan-and-white shelter dog, was sitting on that list — and not one person had asked about him.
No inquiries, no meet-and-greets, no applications. Then one video changed everything, according to Parade Pets, reporting on November 4, 2026.
One video crossed the country
A shelter-dog advocate who posts under the name @sharing.lov3 filmed Dune and shared his story on TikTok, pleading with viewers not to scroll past just another urgent-list dog. The video travelled the way the internet’s best stories do: one share, then another, then another.
It crossed state lines, then crossed the country — until it landed in front of a man named Neil, living in Washington state on the West Coast. Neil booked a flight for the very next day.
A three-day freedom ride
Neil flew into Atlanta, rented a car and drove straight to Cobb County Animal Services to meet Dune in person. He did not fly Dune home in a carrier. He got behind the wheel and drove — a roughly three-day, thousands-of-miles journey from Georgia to Spokane, Washington.
Dune’s TikTok did not just find him a home. It found him a human willing to cross a continent. The shelter’s urgent list is a reminder that behind every viral adoption story are dogs still waiting for someone to stop scrolling.
